I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN) with over 10 years experience. Prior to working in private practice I worked for over 7 years at a private mental health facility in Wollongong, NSW.
My passion is to empower clients to take ownership of nutrition and lifestyle choices that will improve their physical and mental wellbeing. To achieve this my approach to nutrition is realistic, evidence-based and non-judgemental. I have an understanding of trauma informed care, and I seek to create a supportive environment for clients where positive and realistic choices to nutrition and lifestyle are encouraged.
I have a goal of making 'invisible illnesses' seen and not dismissed. I believe nutrition and lifestyle choices can assist in the management of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome (POTS) chronic pain, fatigue and long COVID. I believe that food is medicine and that all food can be enjoyed: it is all about adding, not restricting, and long term sustainable change, not 'dieting'. I believe in a personalised, individualistic approach to each and every person. At each dietetic consultation I will provide a personalised, supportive, non-judgemental and evidenced-based approach towards making realistic choices to reach your health goals. Also at each dietetic consultation I will encourage gradual, realistic and sustainable choices that will help you stay motivated and so sustain a long-term healthier lifestyle.
I have a long standing personal interest in cooking and healthy eating. At home I have a kitchen garden and grow herbs and vegetables which I enjoy including in my cooking. I love to use fresh produce to create nourishing meals. I also love to bake, and I am often found baking cakes and biscuits.
